Undoubtedly studying the Qur’an, reciting it and memorising it are among the best of righteous deeds.

The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) encouraged us to read Qur’an regularly lest we forget it, which means constantly reviewing what one has memorised and repeatedly reciting it.

Similarly, forgetting Qur’an is a blameworthy action, because it involves falling short, turning away from the Book of Allah and abandoning it.

Forgetting the Qur'an which a person has already memorized is not a crime that punishable in the day of Judgement. There is no authentic Hadith to prove any such punishment.

However, a true Muslim should try maximum efforts to memorize, revise, review, and re-memorize the Qur'an frequently, so that no one will be forgotten what he/she memorized from the Qur'an.

It is a great blessings and Tawfeeq from Allah to memorize the Qur'an.

May Allah grant us great opportunity to successfully memorize the noble Qur'an! Aameen
