Imam Ibn Hazm said concerning the Qur'an

Because the proof and the miracles indicate that the Qur’aan is the covenant of Allaah with us, we must believe in it and act in accordance with it.
It has come down to us through generations of Muslims narrating it to those who came after them, which leaves no room for doubt that the Qur’aan is the one which is written in the Mus-hafs which we find everywhere.
We have to follow its teachings, for it is our reference-point, because we read in it the words (interpretation of the meaning):
( وما من دآبة في الأرض ولا طائر يطير بجناحيه إلا أمم أمثالكم ما فرطنا في الكتاب من شيء ثم إلى ربهم يحشرون )
“There is not a moving (living) creature on earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, but are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book, then unto their Lord they (all) shall be gathered”
[al-An’aam 6:38]
Whatever commands and prohibitions are in the Qur’aan, we must adhere to them.

***** NO GOSSIP MONGER WILL ENTER PARADISE The motive in spreading gossip is either ill will towards the person of whom one speaks or to show love to the person to whom one speaks, or to indulge in unnecessary talk and falsehood. All of that is haraam. There is a great deal of evidence in the Quran and Sunnah (prophetic traditions) to show that gossip is haraam (impermissible), such as the verses in which Allah says: وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِينٍ هَمَّازٍ مَّشَّاءٍ بِنَمِيمٍ “And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer.
