It is permissible to eat meat slaughtered by the People of the Book
Ibn
Qudaamah said:
The
scholars are unanimously agreed that it is permissible to eat meat slaughtered
by the People of the Book, because Allah says:
“The food (slaughtered cattle,
eatable animals) of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful
to you”
[al-Maa'idah 5:5].
Al-Bukhaari
said: Ibn ‘Abbaas said: “Their food” means meat slaughtered by them.
