Real
obedience to Allah is to strictly follow what was sent down to His Messenger
(swalla-Allaahu alayhi wa-sallam).
If there is no obedience to him, there is also no obedience to Allah at all.
Therefore, in case of dispute or disagreement, reliance has to be placed on
Qur’an and authentic Sunnah, words, deeds, decision, tradition, and way of life
of the Prophet Muhammad (swalla-Allaahu alayhi wa-sallam) alone.
Allah said in the Qur'an:
“O you have believed! Obey Allah, and obey the
Messenger, and those in authority among you. If you dispute in anything among
yourselves, then refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if you truly believe in
Allah and the Last Day: That is best, and most suitable for final
determination.”
(Al-Qur’an, Surah Al-Nisaa 4:59)
