***** Seek refuge with Allah from the withdrawing of His blessing, and the loss of the well-being that He granted us, and the sudden onset of His wrath, and anything that may lead to His displeasure


It was narrated that ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: One of the du‘aa’s of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ ، وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ ، وَفُجَاءَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ ، وَجَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ

“Allaahumma innee a‘oodhu bika min zawaali ni‘amatika wa tahawwuli ‘Aafiyatika wa fujaa’ati niqmatika wa jamee‘i sakhatika

(O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the withdrawing of Your blessing, and the loss of the well-being that You granted me, and the sudden onset of Your wrath, and anything that may lead to Your displeasure).”

Narrated by Muslim (2739).

***** NO GOSSIP MONGER WILL ENTER PARADISE The motive in spreading gossip is either ill will towards the person of whom one speaks or to show love to the person to whom one speaks, or to indulge in unnecessary talk and falsehood. All of that is haraam. There is a great deal of evidence in the Quran and Sunnah (prophetic traditions) to show that gossip is haraam (impermissible), such as the verses in which Allah says: وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِينٍ هَمَّازٍ مَّشَّاءٍ بِنَمِيمٍ “And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer.
